Our goal is simple: take the financial help from our sponsors
and donors, directly to those in need.
DIRECT HELP
A donation is an expression that comes from the heart to provide help to those in need. In our case, it is providing assistance in all possible ways to children in need. We take great pride in keeping our administrative costs to a mínimum, to be able to invest almost 90% of the donations on the children in need. The remaining 10% is utilized for the administration and maintenance of our centers.
LOCAL LEADERSHIP
The real transformation comes from within. All of our projects are operated by trusted local community leaders, who are connected with their community and are aware of their needs, history and culture.
CULTURAL CONTEXT
​We put a lot of effort into helping communities, in a way that preserves and celebrates their rich cultures. Since our leaders come from these communities, they pay special attention to every detail (from food, to education) to preserve, grow and celebrate the culture of each community.
VERTICAL VS. HORIZONTAL AID
Horizontal help, is one that focuses on targeting immediate and general needs, for example: help that is focused on emergencies or epidemics. UCCD’s focus is on VERTICAL HELP, which is rooted deeply within the community and produces permanent changes. VERTICAL HELP, operates as an active expression of the transforming love of Christ; in doing so, we reach out to the forgotten communities that are in great need, to inspire, empower, and guide them away from poverty. We provide programs that target existing problems, and that interrupt the suffering that is passed on from generation to generation.
